Looking to hire or buy formwork? CFC provides clients with moulds into which concrete or another hardening material is poured for the creation of parts for structures. The moulds are then broken away or left in place, leaving a completed concrete form as part of the larger structure. This can be done in a variety of ways; timber formwork, engineered formwork, re-usable plastic formwork or stay-in-place formwork. Concrete was an unstable substance in the past, however, concrete today is reinforced making it safer and a superior product.
There are a range of material options to choose from when it comes to formwork:
- Timber formwork uses moulds constructed from wood, whereas engineered formwork has moulds constructed from engineered metal frames.
- Re-usable plastic formwork uses an interlocking system to build simple concrete structures.
- Stay-in-place formwork usually involves concrete moulds, which are filled with cement and left in place in the structure.
As a high standard formwork company, we provide various formwork systems. The first is timber formwork, comprising of timber girders and ply-board. This is a very versatile system, allowing the user the freedom to create the necessary moulds with ease. The second is engineered formwork. This entails Metriform and Kwikstrip formwork systems consisting of deck panels to form soffits and concrete slabs for use in construction. The deck panels are precision-manufactured and are made so that work with coffers and troughs is possible. The deck panels come in a variety of different sizes and are supported by props.
